Southern California Rose of Tralee

As the first official public event for the Rose Class of 2009, the Rose Garden Party provided the perfect setting and opportunity for the Roses to introduce themselves to the Irish Community of Southern California. 

Irish Fair Foundation President Terry Anderson opened his home to host the Garden Party.  And Event Chairperson Kathy Hughes—along with her hard working committee—once again provided a magnificent Garden Party to be enjoyed by all.

The event also marked the introduction of the Rosebud Class of 2009.  Led by Rosebud Brittany, the Rosebud Class for 2009 included Rosebuds Bridget, Greta, and Samantha, along with future Rosebud Ava.

Conversations and laughter could be found in every corner of the yard as the Roses mingled with each other.  Families and friends enjoyed a day of good company.  There was entertainment from the Rose Debs as a few “auditioned” their party pieces for the Grand Ball.  Singing ranged from an Italian aria to a Broadway showtune and was completed with a rousing Irish step dance.

Although a smaller affair than in years past, the Garden Party was deemed a success simply for the lively conversation among friends, engaging performances from the Roses, and of course, the warm hospitality of the Rose Committee and Irish Fair Board members.
